A Busy Season Ahead for BMI

By May 22, 2013 May 6th, 2020 No Comments

The summer season has officially begun, and commercial retrofits numbers are rising fast in The Ottawa National Capital Region. BMI is springing into a very busy season!

The focus of the green building industry in Canada is expanding from new building design and construction, into “greening” existing buildings.

“We are happy say that BMI embraced LEED practices within our core services more than five years ago,” BMI’s CEO says. “BMI feels proud to have assisted organizations in improving their tenant space while simultaneously reducing their environmental footprint.”

Continuing along these lines, BMI has recently secured contracts with MTS ALLSTREAM – Tenant Improvements to floors 3 and 4, 150 Laurier Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario. The client presented BMI with a challenging brief: upgrading office locations with more energy efficient building envelopes, HVAC and lighting. The staging of this project will allow MTS ALLSTREAM to achieve their long-term environmental commitment, reduction target and green objectives to “reduce absolute GHG emissions by 20 per cent by the end of 2020.”

In addition, BMI is in the process of renovating the existing tenant space of DOLPHIN TALE DAYCARE – located at 59 Iber Road, Stittsville, Ontario. BMI is managing the total project redevelopment, including partitions, suspended acoustic ceilings, flooring, painting, electrical and mechanical work as well as the external civil works.

BMI is proud to have partnered with Timbercreek Asset Management in the tenant fit-up of Fairlea Apartments located at 2920 Fairlea Crescent, Ottawa, Ontario. The staging of this project allowed Timbercreek to sell and/or lease the newly-renovated condos as the project progressed. BMI project managed the total redevelopment, including external civil works, the construction of parking areas and the building façade upgrade. With the diversity of tenants who are leasing space within the residential property, a high standard of services was required. For example, high speed secure data, lighting and air conditioning.
